The first assignment serves a few purposes, but most notably, what I want you to do is to experience something new and write a review.
Travel often has us struggling with both the comfort of the familiar and our need for new stimuli. In this assignment, I want you to see/do something new. In a pinch, I can give some ideas, but I want this to be something you are interested in.
Your assignment
You will write a Review that an audience looking to visit where you are at would be interested in. Length does not matter, but remember that most internet reviews are short (100-200 words). Writing a compelling review involves sticking to plain language written in an authentic way. The point is to share your experience of a place, and include details that go beyond what somebody might see at the place’s website or other source. Authenticity can reveal your bias, but be fair in your review. If you don’t like hot dogs, don’t review a hot dog stand, unless you are open to the possibility of changing your attitude towards hot dogs.
